Mardi Gras Film Festival

Mardi Gras Film Festival

The Mardi Gras Film Festival is a home for queer stories — past, present and emerging — showcasing the best in LGBTQIA+ cinema from Australia and beyond, celebrating queer voices, creativity and culture through the power of film.

Join us on Sunday the 22nd of February for a full day of Mardi Gras Film Festival events!
11:15am — Queer Comedy Shorts
Nine hilarious short films, including Flight Risk (co-starring Kate Box, Deadloch) and Sunday Sauce (co-starring Cathy Moriarty, But I’m a Cheerleader). 90 minutes of pure queer comedy gold.

1:30pm — Lesbian Space Princess (Live Commentary Screening)
Writer-directors Emma Hough Hobbs and Leela Varghese join us in person, with the session moderated by Nina Oyama (Deadloch). A rare behind-the-scenes look at this award-winning film.

Industry Panel + Networking
Australian and international screen professionals discuss the realities of getting work made — followed by networking for LGBTIQ+ creatives and collaborators.

Make a day of it and celebrate queer cinema with us.
