The Pyramid is back, and it has found a new home at one of Sydney's most beloved community spaces – The Red Rattler Theatre.
To welcome this new chapter, The Pyramid is doing things a little differently.
Have you ever been on the dancefloor when the DJ drops a sexy remix of your favourite song, or spins something you've never heard that makes you move like never before? That moment of discovery. That electric feeling when a new track hits and you feel alive again. Inspired by that beautiful moment, The Pyramid is letting the DJs decide what the dancers perform to – and it will be a complete surprise for the dancers until the very moment they step onto the floor.
Just like at the club, you dance to whatever the DJ or playlist decides. And one thing about these dancers? They know how to freestyle and move to whatever is given. Blending the energy of the club with the spirit of freestyle competitions like Paige Cooper's XXXPRESS comp, The Pyramid has created the ultimate Freestyle Fantasy – a night where DJs and dancers connect to create something truly special.

About The Pyramid
Named after the Frank Ocean song Pyramids, this night is dedicated to QTBIPOC dancers, royalty, deities, ethereal beings, and everything in between. The Pyramid offers a sexy space for queer and BIPOC people to strip, tease, and dance – showered with tipping dollars, love, and appreciation.
The Pyramid was created in commemoration of the Black strippers and sex workers who paved the way – the ones who created the artform of pole, who sensationalised and platformed strip clubs and stripper culture, who revolutionised the sex industry, and who made space for those who came after. In so-called Australia, BIPOC workers are too often overlooked and undervalued, facing racism in clubs and pole spaces. The Pyramid was created to give them the flowers – and the dollars – they deserve. They are the trendsetters. They are the blueprint.
Acknowledgements
The Pyramid acknowledges that this event is taking place on unceded Gadigal Land. We pay our respects to ancestors past and present and remember that it always was, and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
We also pay our respects to all sex workers – strip and pole were created and sensationalised by the Black sex workers before us, and they deserve their flowers, always. We honour all sex workers for the liberation work they continue to do.
