The Chop Beat Battle celebrates 11 years with 16 beatmakers going head-to-head, plus special guest DJ Spell live at Red Rattler.

THE CHOP BEAT BATTLE 2026

The Chop launched in Sydney in 2013 as a showcase event for beatmakers and producers. In 2015, we held our first Beat Battle at Play Bar, Surry Hills, where the battle remained until 2017.

From there, Hustle & Flow Bar became its home, with the Beat Battle running there until the venue's closure.

After missing the opportunity to celebrate our 10th year, we're going big for the 11th anniversary, taking the battle to a new and bigger home at Red Rattler Theatre in Marrickville.

16 beatmakers will go head-to-head in an open-format battle, competing across the night in front of a five-person judging panel.

Joining us from New Zealand, DJ SPELL aka SPELLSPELLSPELL will appear as a special guest judge and perform a special showcase.

DJ PROLIFIK THE GIFTED will be on deck throughout the battle.
